    Description

Please email with any questions. Unposted card decorated with a collage of intricately cut postage stamps and hand painted watercolor. This card has the image of a female passenger in a rickshaw. The card itself is marked on the back in red: UNION POSTALE UNIVERSELLE POST CARD. This postcard has an undivided back and was probably made in the early 1900's. I think the stamp collage decoration was a cottage business in the 1930's and they were made on old unused stock blank postcards. There are a couple of small foxing spots and faint wear to corners, some pale brown stains near the collage are caused by dried glue used in the creation of the collage.
